Music artist branding + website UI concept

OVERVIEW

To practice my skills in User Interface Design and mockups, I created this personal project for the imaginary music artist J Sharp. J’s personality and mood are dark, edgy, and deep, so his website needed to reflect this. I chose an all-black background for the site and included sharp, geometric lines in both the letterforms and design elements to contrast with and contain the vast emotional depths J explores in his music.

The site is intentionally simple, created as a home base for his music career, where visitors can learn about him, listen to his music across multiple platforms, contact him directly, and keep up with him on social media.

DESIGN APPROACH

• Dark UI environment: reinforces the artist’s moody tone and creates strong contrast for imagery and typography.

• Geometric line system: sharp lines and grid elements echo the artist name “Sharp” while creating a structured layout.

• Minimal navigation: the interface focuses on key actions: learning about the artist, listening to music, and contacting him.

• Typography-driven design: spaced geometric letterforms help establish a distinctive visual identity while remaining legible.
